Dog Food Testing Center Training

One of my main projects in 2008 was a joint project with a dog food testing center in Kankakee, Illinois. Also involved were three dog rescue groups: Cause4PAWS, PAWS Chicago, and CPR (Child and Pet Relief) Rescue Fund as well as Unleashed dog boarding, grooming and training facility. Full Story

Rescue breaks up largest dogfighting ring in Illinois history

In 2007, the largest dog-fighting ring in Illinois history was shut down. The Cook County Sheriff's Department rescued 37 injured dogs from an old chicken coop behind a South Holland home. Treadmills and weights for strength training were found along with a breeding room. Typically, dogs from these situations are euthanized once they are rescued. Meet Stoney - Super Underdog

Stoney was found on a hot July day. In a hurry, I was driving fast and took a shortcut in an unfamiliar area. Something caught my eye on the side of the road. I slowed and saw it was a pit bull lying down. I called him and he slowly came over to me. I saw that his ears had been completely stripped of fur and flesh, and he was covered in flies and bloody sores and was skin and bones. Full Story
