Pumpkin

"Shortly after we adopted Pumpkin from Animal Care and Control, we discovered she was aggressive with other dogs. In our first and only attempt at resolving Pumpkin's social issues on our own, we were fortunate enough to meet Curtis. Rather than allowing us to continue torturing our poor new pup, Curtis helped us tremendously.

In our first session, he taught Pumpkin how to sit-stay and down-stay in two minutes! Even more impressive than teaching general obedience techniques, Curtis's skills as a behaviorist have caused changes that are nothing short of dramatic. In four months, Pumpkin has gone from barking and lunging at any and all dogs within 20 feet of her to being able to peaceably walk within a few feet of strange dogs. These improvements were made during hour-long sessions, every couple of weeks, with Curtis over 3 months.

Pumpkin now can play with two other dogs during our sessions each week, something we thought would be impossible mere months ago. Curtis has deftly and compassionately supported Pumpkin's unique developmental needs and provided us with sound guidance in supporting Pumpkin's improving social acumen. We've happily recommended Curtis to other dog owners and we thoroughly encourage anyone reading this to send Curtis an e-mail right now!"

MacKenzie

"MacKenzie broke down my back gate three times, after seeing me from the alley, to chose me as her 'person'. Raised with dogs all my life and five trainers later, I was still close to tears everyday with this power house of dog aggression. Then I found Curtis Scott and within two sessions, MacKenzie was calm and polite, listening (finally). Now I'm even working towards a second dog! I could never thank Curtis enough for the gift of this funny, sweet, protective animal in my life. Thanks, Curtis!"

Meg

"We adopted Meg, a young pit bull, from a local animal shelter. Our entire family immediately fell in love with her affectionate and intelligent personality. When Meg began to be aggressive toward workers in our house and passers-by on the street, we were at a loss. Curtis explained to us the source of Meg's bad behavior and gave us simple ways to help her become calm and friendlier dog.

Curtis has a keen ability to understand dogs and to help humans communicate positively and effectively with them. Thanks to Curtis, Meg's behavior and our relationship with her gets better daily."

Bella

"Curtis has been a great help to me and my dog, Bella. When I rescued Bella, about a year ago, I was totally lost. I really didn't have any idea on how to help her with her obedience training. She would walk in front of me and wouldn't listen to my commands. It was totally frustrating for me. Then along came Curtis. He went to my house and trained both me and Bella in only four sessions. Ever since I met Curtis, my dog and I have been getting along GREAT and I love walking her. She is the highlight of my life."

Malcolm

"We are so grateful to Curtis for his work with us and our Boston Terrier, Malcolm. Malcolm was destructive, nippy and demanding, as a result of his energy level and the abuse in his background. We adopted Malcolm from a wonderful rescue group but after a few months, we were so afraid that we would have to give him back. Curtis helped us to balance Malcolm's spirited temperament with structure and compassionate discipline. Curtis has a talent for recognizing the unique needs of each dog and his family. In fact, we noticed results after the first session! Malcolm is much calmer and happier now. Due to Curtis's guidance, we are finally able to enjoy Malcolm for what he is: spirited, playful and very resilient."

Solex

"Solex was a handful when she came into our home. The previous owners had reinforced many of her bad behaviors, and she had no discipline. We thought it would take months of hard work to get her to behave, but by the end of the first session with Curtis she was already like a completely different dog. Curtis is great at assessing the individual personality and needs of the dog (and of the owners too), and tailoring a unique approach for the specific situation. Every session felt like a breakthrough. We're so glad we found Curtis, and we can't recommend him enough."

Cause4Paws

"Curtis is the best trainer I have ever worked with. He has an amazing amount of knowledge about dogs and their behavior. He has been incredibly helpful to my rescue and is wonderful with all the dogs. His experience with Pit Bulls and all dogs is vast and impressive, as well. I highly recommend him."
-Linda Bober, Cause 4 Paws Rescue

Sadie

"Curtis is amazing. We asked him to come to the house to help with a couple of our dogs because we had no idea where to begin. We learned we needed to be the pack leaders and Curtis showed us how to do it. Calmness and assertiveness works and we gained confidence in our ability to handle the dogs so that they come together as a pack. Words cannot express our appreciation for his knowledge and ability to change a situation in a matter of minutes. His calm demeanor and quiet confidence while working with the dogs brought about changes almost immediately. We practiced what he showed us and found that we could do the same thing!

Curtis, a great big thank you from the pack!"

Diane

"Curtis responded very quickly to my original e-mail and helped us as soon as it was possible. I know that we need to put in the work and dedication to keep our girls calm and maintain their training, and because of your help and that we love our dogs, we're going to do our best. I know that I can count on Curtis if we need additional reinforcement in the future. Thank you again, Curtis."
