Testimonials (Page 1, Page 2)

"Tasha, my 10 year old German Shepherd Dog, started displaying serious aggression issues after a recent major surgery. This made me uncomfortable having people come over or even walking my dog on the street. I was in constant fear that something would trigger the aggression in her and someone would get bit.

At that time, I called Curtis. Curtis met my dog and developed a training plan for us. Curtis came to my house and began working with me and Tasha. After a couple sessions, I already saw an improvement in Tasha's temperament. In addition, Curtis helped me develop a plan of how to introduce new people to Tasha in a safe environment. I now know how to handle these situations in a way that I am comfortable with and where both Tasha and the other person are safe.

Thank you Curtis. I cannot thank you or recommend your services enough.

Update: Just thought I would let you know that Tasha was put down. She had wide spread cancer in her body and severe arthritis. Thank you very much for all your help with her. Your training made the last year with her much easier and her life much more enjoyable."

"We called Curtis after another trainer told us our dog Sophie, a rescue dog, would have to be locked up whenever we had company. Curtis came to our house and met Sophie and promised he could make her feel more comfortable around strangers. Curtis taught us the tools we need to help Sophie deal with her fear. We could not have asked for a better outcome!"

"My wife and I contacted Chicago dog trainer Curtis Scott a month after we had brought our second dog home. There was complete chaos amongst the two dogs and we had absolutely no control over the situation. Bruno our 2 1/2 yr old Rott-mix and Van (a severely abused Staff-mix pup) were in a constant state of competition always bickering and fighting. What made it worse was the fact that Bruno and Van had no proper training and yes neither did we. The first day Curtis made a breakthrough with properly teaching us how to walk Bruno. Until then we tried seven different collars/ harnesses and he still pulled us down the street. Through the next few weeks Curtis successfully taught us how to use numerous commands and maintain discipline between the two dogs. They are now inseperable and its a pleasure to come home (most of the time).

Curtis was also helpful in other aspects such as pointing out the different characteristics in our dogs and how to work effectively with their own traits, recommending daily drills to improve their obediance levels, etc. He is an absolute fountain of knowledge and always returns our numerous calls and e-mails.

We cannot thank Curtis enough . Realistically without him Van would have been taken back to the shelter and Bruno would have had the personality of a stubborn ass pulling us down the street limiting his walks."

"My husband and I adopted Larry, an adorable Pit Bull/English Bulldog mix from the Naperville Humane Society. After seeing some behavior and obedience problems, Curtis Scott was recommended to us by the Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue Organization. From our first meeting, Curtis quickly befriended Larry. He trained not only our dog, but us as well. Larry's behavior may not have been exemplary at first, but as we learned, neither was our management of him. Thanks to Curtis's training, we saw a complete turn-around in Larry. Curtis is extremely dedicated and his love for animals really shows. His focus on positive reinforcement appealed to us, and his methods work, plain and simple. He is a wonderful trainer; knowledgeable, informative, and fun to work with. My husband and I highly recommend him, and regularly do so to friends and family."

"Curtis is truly amazing with our dogs. He recently facilitated the introduction of our our new pooch to our furry family. It was smooth sailing! He is helping our shepherd mix to be less fearful of the outside world and behave like a good girl on her walks. She is so much happier and had a bounce in her walk at our last session. Thank you, Curtis, for being an outstanding leader of the pack!! "

"This guy rocks!

He took a dog for me that failed the HSI temp test for dog aggression and was going to be put to sleep. The dog is happily living in a forever home with three other dogs NO ISSUES!!!

Curtis, Thanks again for helping Osito/Perry. You are wonderful."

"As first-time dog owners and long-time cat owners, we were unprepared for the turmoil in our household when we adopted our 4 year-old Westie, Kate. Curtis stepped in and immediately showed us that we had a very sweet, but insecure dog in Kate and that it was possible for her to co-exist with our 15 year-old cat, Tuesday.

With his gentle yet firm training style, Kate quickly learned basic commands. We noticed an immediate difference in her after the first session; she became a much calmer, less excitable dog after a few sessions. Curtis also gave us techniques for correcting any unwanted behavior toward the cat. Thanks to Curtis, we now have a much more peaceful household."

"Curtis has a great understanding of canine behavior and he uses this knowledge to help dog owners!

I have a Newfoundland that was growing larger by the minute and I wanted to make sure that she was well behaved when she became fully grown. I felt very comfortable expressing my concerns to Curtis and he implemented successful techniques to ease these concerns. We practiced these techniques with my puppy and within a couple of weeks she improved tremendously! Curtis even incorporated some of the training with my older dog since the two dogs would be walking and playing together. I would definitely recommend Curtis to other dog owners!"

"I just had to send you an email to let you know how well behaved Boone was on Thanksgiving. We had my entire family over (15 people) for dinner. Boone was so good that my sister was even letting him play with her boys (the ones that she wouldn't bring over to my house before). Thank you so much for all of your help with Boone - we never could have had Thanksgiving dinner here without your help! Thanks!!"

"I originally was looking to adopt a cat as a friend for my first cat, Cass. As it happened, I fell in love with Beau instead and > brought him home, much to the chagrin and intense upset of Cass. As I live in a loft space with no doors, it was impossible to gently introduce the two, and I went through many sleepless nights, especially because Beau wasn’t housebroken.

With Curtis's help, Beau learned to “go” outside and the basic commands. Curtis explained the benefits of crating which helped Cass begin to relax.

While Cass and Beau are not best buddies, they do co-exist with little to no tension. Curtis's knowledge of dogs is extraordinary, and he put my mind at ease. Whenever I have an issue, I call him to solve my problem. Talk about great customer service! I highly recommend him for any dog concerns!"

-Dory Binyon, Cass and Beau

"My husband and I can't say enough positive things about Curtis! He has helped with every issue, no matter how big or how small, that I have had with my dogs. His positive training methods have helped us become a loving, stable, functional pack! Curtis is a calm, gentle, caring dog > trainer who truly understand how dogs work and what they need to live happy and healthy lives.

Izzy and Dudley are always at their best in his presence, and we are so glad that we have found someone that we can so wholeheartedly trust to always steer us in the right direction with our dogs!"

"While walking my dog, another dog began following us. He showed up out of nowhere. "Whose little guy are you?" I asked, and that was how Guy came into my life. Guy was kind of wild, jumping up on tables, spinning around the room, and grabbing anything he could get his mouth on, parading around the house with shoes, garbage, nipping and growling.

None of this bothered me until when I realized that I could not go near him while he was eating, I knew I had a serious problem. I have had dogs since I was seven years old and I'm over 50 years old now. My current dog Layla is 85 pounds so Guy’s 80 pound weight was not an issue. But I never before had a dog that I was afraid of. I knew I need help.

Thanks to a stroke of good fortune, I met Curtis. He came into my home and immediately started to work with me and with Guy and Layla, too. I gave Guy a bone and within 15 minutes, Curtis had Guy letting him take the bone out of his mouth. Curtis taught me some dog body language and showed me how to gain Guy’s trust and keep my status in the “hierarchy.”

I have already recommended Curtis to my friends – he’s the guy who saved a stray tiny dog who once bit everyone and today is a happy 80 pound good dog. Thanks Curtis."

"It was clear when we first brought Beckett (black lab/basset hound mix) home from the shelter that he had no idea how to interact with people or live in a home. He mouthed and gnawed on everything--including us--and was generally unruly and demanding. When he bit the vet's assistant a few days after we got him, the vet told us we should consider giving him up because he was aggressive. Not wanting to give up on him, we called the shelter and they put us in contact with Curtis. He came to the rescue two days later. He evaluated Beckett and assured us that our dog was not aggressive, just stressed, confused, and in need of boundaries. Curtis taught us how to deal with Beckett's issues in a positive way that would minimize his stress. Most importantly, Curtis gave us the confidence to be leaders. Beckett is now a very calm and affectionate member of the family who understands and obeys many commands. He even knows that the word "Curtis" means he gets to see his best friend!"
